Dr. Mizuguchi’s Breast Augmentation Philosophy:
Most of my patients today are selecting the silicone gel implants because of their more natural feel. Silicone gel implants can be placed on top of the muscle or under. I prefer to place them under the muscle for long-term patient satisfaction. My patients generally prefer the incision placement at the fold of their breasts. An incision around the areola is another option for some.
Saline implant has some advantages over the silicone. They can be safely placed through a smaller incision, have better volume adjustability, and can also be place through your arm pit. Saline implants continues to be a popular choice for some of my patients for these reasons.
I feel that implant selection is not only critical in obtaining beautiful results but also in meeting your goals. I take great pride in listening to your needs and using my surgical expertise to help you select the best implant to meet your personal goals and expectations. I use both saline and silicon gel implants from Mentor and Allergan (Natrelle). I also participate in clinical trials for the “gummy bear” implant and the new adjustable silicone gel implant called Spectra.
Breast augmentation is done typically as an outpatient procedure under anesthesia. I have a AAAASF certified operating rooms in my facility served by a board certified anesethiologist and our professional staff. Breast augmentation usually takes less than an hour. Most of my patients return to work in several days.
