Now women seeking breast augmentation may have an easier time deciding their new breast size. Allergan Medical, Inc., the makers of Natrelle® breast implant, has announced a release of a new educational product for consumers: the Natrelle® Pre-Consultation Kit. It may be helpful for prospective patients who are undecided about breast augmentation.
The basic idea is to give patients who are interested in breast augmentation an opportunity have at-home consultation. The DVD included will answer most of the commonly asked questions about breast augmentation. You will also have the opportunity to try on breast implants to get a better idea about your goal breast size. With size being the single most important criteria for successful surgery, this may help your plastic surgeon select the proper implants.
I had a chance to preview a premarket sample. It comes in a beautiful brown box with four implants and an adjustable sizing bra. The package includes the instructional DVD which features two women discussing breast augmentation. The implants are not the real device that will be implanted. They are just a well-sealed bag filled with what appears to be saline. There is no description of size or profile of the implant but after examining them, I think they are similar to Natrelle® Low Profile saline implants ranging from 250cc to about 400cc.
The other bonus is that if you choose the Natrelle® breast implants from Allergan® for your breast augmentation, you will receive a $50 rebate. Other coupons included are for Botox®, Juvederm®, and Latisse® (grows eyelash). You will get all this for $39 plus $5 for shipping. They are available now.
Overall, this is an attractive package. It will certainly give women a better idea of what breast augmentation can do for them. One of the limitations I see is that Natrelle® is only one of the major implant maker which might be a problem for surgeons who only use Mentor ®. I use both Mentor and Natrelle breast implants but some time will prefer one brand’s profile over the other. I am sure Mentor® will also come out with their own version of the Natrelle® Pre-Consultation Kit which may make this a moot point.
